On Sunday the plan was to visit lake Como and having woken up early in the morning we made our way to the Stazione Centrale to get a train to Como . Milan ’s Central station is Italy ’s second-largest station and it’s a place where you feel the rush of movement, people coming and going to all different directions, a bustling destination that brings out an excitement making you want to catch the next train and head off to various cities and embark on an exciting journey, a destination unknown. As I sat in the train I began to visualize a train journey around Italy , and the more I thought about it, I welcomed this idea for my future travels. Having recently read Aleph by Paulo Coelho, perhaps triggered this interest to explore a journey on a train in search of the unknown, of the past and the present moment. It was a glorious day in Como and after having enjoyed a couple of hours wondering around and enjoying the magnificent scenery, the addictions of a shopaholic kicked in again and it was time to cross the border to Switzerland and visit a place called Fox Town in Mendrisio for a few hours of shopping. This was the last day of the trip and the following day we headed back to Athens . In the next post I will be sharing some photos of Milan ’s street fashion which was not that easy to take. Until then, enjoy. xoxo ES
