Passion for National Gardens

Tall tree trunks, the distinctive smell of the first raindrops, it is gloomy yet you feel a sense of excitement walking through the National Garden located in the heart of Athens. It may not be as grandeur as the Central Park, yet still it is a place of history as it once served as the garden of the Royal Palace which was created by Queen Amalia and her German gardener in 1839. The garden features ancient ruins, Corinthian capitals of columns, mosaics and other artifacts.  Here you can spends hours wondering around, trying to find your source of inspiration. Perhaps you may feel like Alice in Wonderland, where time stands still and you start to explore life’s greatest philosophies.  Let me share one of my favourite Alice’s quotes “It would be so nice if something made sense for a change.” The inner-meaning I would say is that life is a series of lessons and the moment you think that you have solved the puzzle, another challenge appears and you are back to square one, trying to allocate the “sense”. I like to refer to life as being a journey, and with this in mind I tend to enjoy the ride. There is always something to learn, to develop and to accomplish. Passion for Shoes

Hey there fashionistas! Wow, mid week is already here and just before we know it, weekend time will arrive. I am super excited that the shoes that I have ordered from net-a-porter have finally arrived today and although it has been cold here in Athens, I am planning to pack these beauties in my suitcase for a trip to a warmer destination next week. I got a pair of Alexander Birman python and suede sandals and a pair of J. Crew Wyatt canvas and leather sandals. Which one is your favourite? Until next time. xoxo ES

Passion for Celebration



Happy Monday everyone! Wishing you all a great start of the week. Last night, on Anastasiya’s special day we celebrated in style and found out that when it comes to entertainment, Athens puts the crisis aside and has a blast. In Greece live music nightclubs are known as “bouzoukia”, and here there are no boundaries to how you celebrate. This is tradition, and some traditions never seize to remain.  To show appreciation to the singers, one must drown the stage with red carnations. The atmosphere is electric and the Athenians usually are spotted dancing and singing a lot to favourite tunes. A good tradition worth maintaining, as it helps people forget the hopefully temporary bleakness of the economic situation. Until next time enjoy and stay positive. xoxo ES

Passion for Champagne

Ciao my dear readers. I know that I have been terrible the past week and haven’t been updating my blog, but I have been truly busy planning the next chapters of my life. Last night to celebrate the old New Year which is a Russian tradition, I have gathered a few of my dear friends for dinner. Unfortunately only today did I realize that I did not take the shots that I wanted to. I guess we were too busy reading and tasting the history of Veuve Clicquot, lol. As we like our drinks to have a sense of history here is a few bits and pieces of information about the famous Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin champagne. Did you know that this brand bears a stamp of a legendary woman who was forward-thinking and creative, but most importantly she envisioned the international future of champagne? Oh oui, she was brave enough to ship wines to the delight of the Russian court. Smart business woman! Have a fabulous Saturday everyone, wherever you are and whatever you are doing. xoxo ES

Passion for Kate's Cooking Corner - Fasolada

Hi there! Hope you are all having a fabulous start of the year. Guess what? Kate is back and for the first recipe of the year, she has prepared a bean soup called “fasolada”. This is an easy to make, tasty light meal and a great dish for vegetarians. Serve it with plenty of crunchy bread and feta cheese, and you are sure in for a great meal experience. Once the “fasolada” was ready and served, Kate gathered us for a feast and like a great hostesses she raised a glass of chilled white wine for good health and a great New Year! Passion for New Year - Welcome 2012

Happy New Year people! I hope that you all had an amazing celebration and that 2012 will only be filled with special moments and lots of passion. In the afternoon of the 31^st and the last day of 2011 my friends and I celebrated at Baron which is a new hot spot in our area. Then a quick run home and change of outfits, the New Year’s party destination was The Margi Hotel. I must say it was the best choice for welcoming the New Year, and celebrating with the right people made it even more special. For the evening I wore a Versace  for H&M  dress that I bought in Milan and was saving it for a special occasion. Once again Happy New Year and stay inspired. xoxo ES
