Passion for Resort 2013 Collections

Alexander Wang as always created an elegant, laid back and fuss free collection. His urban pieces all look like they have been designed with high level of detail yet they all seem so effortlessly cool. Plenty of croc-leather pieces, an underwear theme that slowly revels itself, split at the side or revealing back, chunky yet comfortable sweaters that all look cool. A collection that screams confidence yet comfort!

Once more Karl Lagerfeld designed to amaze, this time his collection was inspired by the modern princess: an infusion of modern fashion and the highlights of eighteenth century. His muse Marie Antoinette. Pastel coloured dresses with hints of corseted, ruffle skirts decorated the silhouettes of the21^st century modern girls. Despite the historical narrative there is always place for the famous tweet jackets and suits, and this never seizes to exist in the brand’s collections.

The Louis Vuitton Resort 2013 collection is all about the one-time French colony and although the weather seems hot women seem as being “well dressed”. Here we see new proportions, tunic like dresses, drop waist dresses, elongated visor caps and chunky platform heels. The message we get here is designed for dedicated fashionistas!  

Tory Burch Resort 2013 collection was inspired by her dream vacation to the Amalfi Coast! Sundresses and short shorts created from prints reminiscent of faded tile works. Easy to wear colours and practical pieces that can be used for travel or as a working wardrobe.

 
Frida Giannini created a fabulous, airy and elegant Gucci Resort 2013 collection which was much inspired by the 1970’s. Snakeskin is back but this time giving it a rather sporty look, a delicate t-shirt and skirt with a sporty waistband, match it with the right accessories and you can wear it in the city or on your getaway. Sheer long dresses with flora detail and here you are, back in the flower garden. Highlight: floral beaded collars which can add a unique touch to a plain dress. Simple, sophisticated and womanlike.
