If you ever find yourself visiting Athens , you must definitely add a visit to the Cape Sounion
on your “To do List”. The best time would be to visit this place just before
sunset so that you can witness this magical experience. Go there at around
19:30 pm if you are visiting in the summer. If you are into mythology this is
the legendary place where Aegeus, king of Athens ,
fell into the sea when he thought that his son Theseus was defeated by the
Minotaur, the legendary monster that lived in the palace
of Knossos on the island of Crete .
Theseus had travelled to Crete to kill the
Minotaur and his father had instructed him that if he was successful in the
defeat he thus would hoist a white sail on his return home. Upon his return he
forgot to change the sails thus returning with the black one. His father seeing
the black sails and thinking that his son is dead, fell into the sea and
drowned. The Athenians named this the Aegean Sea .
Greece
is famous for its mythology, come and experience it for yourselves. Until next
time. xoxo ES

Passion for Three Island Cruise - Hydra, Poros, Aigina
On Sunday I spent the whole day on
the three island cruise with Olympic Cruises. I have been on a similar cruise years ago, yet it was a
magical experience that I relived once again and definitely recommend to anyone
who is visiting Athens .
The journey begins from the Marina Flisvos at 08:00 am where you can enjoy a great
breakfast on board, followed by the first stop (in approximately 3 hours) on
the island of Hydra . Here you will spend around one
hour and 30 minutes after which you make your way to the next island which is
Poros. During the journey from Hydra to Poros we were served Greek style lunch,
accompanied by live entertainment!
You don’t get to spend much time in Poros
but enough to climb up to the Clock Tower and to soak in the captivating sea
view. Final stop is the island
of Aigina where you get
to spend about two hours. If you wish you may join an extra excursion by bus
around the island or enjoy a couple of hours on the beach. The boat leaves
Aigina at about 18:15 pm and you can finally unwind after a full memorable day.
However the show must go on therefore you can also spend your time dancing away
and drinking the signature cocktails on board, like Ouzo Smash. I didn’t try
one of the two but it was fun watching the crowd. A one of a kind of experience
that shouldn’t be missed. Until next time. xoxo ES

Passion for Athens - Agora, Hadrian's Library and more
Happy Monday darlings! Are you all
ready to take on the new week in full power? Here I am again all excited to
share the wonderful experience of discovering Athens ! When you live in a city for too long,
you tend to forget its beauty until the day you look at it from the visitor’s
eye and discover what has been there, waiting for your eye to capture. It’s the
angle that you look from, that makes you see something in a different light. On
the second day downtown we visited the Hadrian’s Library, the Ancient Agora,
the Roman Agora and the Tower of the Winds, the Temple of Olympian Zeus ,
ending the day with a walk around the little streets of Plaka. The general ticket
that you buy to visit the Acropolis costs 12 Euro, but it can be used for four
days after purchase and gives you access to all the above mentioned sites. Have
you been to Athens ?
Do share your impressions of this historical city!

Passion for LBD - with a touch of Orange
When in doubt wear a LBD, it’s an
all time classic and you can never go wrong. During my wardrobe organizing
process I spotted this “lost soul” somewhere in the endless row of black, different
shaped and styled dresses. It’s a
vintage indeed, purchased more than a decade ago in the Gianfranco Ferre
boutique in Rome .
Some pieces never go out of style. I incorporated some colour into the whole
outfit by adding a leopard scarf, orange pair of heels and newly purchased Marc
Jacobs bangles. Do share your LBD stories! Have a great weekend everyone. Until
next time. xoxo ES

Today’s cooking adventures will
focus on making the Turkish Alinazik which is a specialty of the Gaziantep province. This dish
