The word “Shanti” in Indian means “the highest
happiness-inner peace”. Did you know that in Buddhism as well as in Hinduism
the threefold Shanti is generally interpreted as meaning the Threefold
Peace in body, speech, and mind (i.e. peace in the entirety of one’s being).
The meaning of the word “shanti” lies in the ability to learn how to cultivate
peace in our lives. Of course every desired result requires determination, the
right knowledge, environment and products.
I must admit that I have always been a fan of
meditation although I have not come to master “shanti” just yet; nevertheless I
always have my mind open to embracing this lifestyle. I admire people who have
made it their way of life. Just imagine yourself in the place of Julia Roberts,
in the movie Eat, Pray, Love what did that teach you? That happiness comes from
within. A perfect sum up would be this exact same quote:
“You need to learn how to select your thoughts
just the same way you select your clothes every day. This is a power you can
cultivate. If you want to control things in your life so bad, work on the mind.
That's the only thing you should be trying to control.” ― Elizabeth
Gilbert, Eat, Pray,
Love
I know we can’t just get up and travel the
world now like Julia Roberts did in the movie, so here I am sharing my newest
discovery that will help you relax, enjoy and witness “shanti”. Shanti Cosmetics have created their
body oils, Pitta, Vata and Kapha based on the three physical powers of the
Ayurvedic teachings, which in ideal harmony keep the body healthy and alive. I
decided to try the Shanti Pitta Body Oil,
whose energies according to the Ayurvedic teachings guide the process of
change, especially the metabolism.
The olive oil has a balancing effect that makes
the skin soft and elastic, while the sunflower oil moisturizes the skin and the
coconut oil cools it off. Apricot kernel oil helps sensitive skin and the hemp
oil regenerates it, while the neem oil strengthens the immune system. Quite a
combination, right?! When applying the
product to the body, this oily/greasy effect was not there which is perfect.
Have you ever applied oil that would just not absorb? This has happened to me
on numerous occasions, this is why when I tried Shanti Pitta Body Oil, I
instantly knew that it is a quality product.
Palmarosa helps to prevent from negative
emotions such as jealousy and anger. Jasmine flowers helps to
increase erotic feelings and to unwind. Sandelamyris has a warming effect on
the body and soul. Coriander helps digestion and relieves severe headache.
Indian pennywort stimulates collagen exchange and helps cell renewal. Mandarin
is useful in toning the skin, helps with indigestion, insomnia, nervous tension
and oily skin. Mary Rose facilitates relaxation and nurtures the emotions. Yes
all this in one bottle. You should try it. Visit the Shanti website here and discover
their range of products! Until next time. Namaste! xoxo ES
